Technology and choice of CEMS
Although many CEMS instruments look similar and appear to carry out the same function this is not usually the case, CEMS manufacturers use a variety of technologies to perform the measurements and these can include Visible Light (Dust, Opacity & Visibility Monitors), Infrared, Ultraviolet, Laser and FTIR (Fourier-Transform Infrared) Gas Analysers.
Importantly, the end user should be aware that there are limitations with all CEMS instruments and the CEMS for your application should be fit-for-purpose. Costly mistakes can be made so we strongly advise that you seek advice if you are not familiar with CEMS and the legislation applicable in your industry.
